Overview

Pranos Fusion Pvt Ltd is seeking a dynamic and innovative Plasma Physicist specialising in computational plasma physics to join our founding scientific team. Our mission is to advance fusion energy research, focusing on theoretical modelling and simulation of plasma behaviour in fusion environments. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking scientific research while shaping the direction of a cutting-edge startup. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing advanced computational models, conducting simulations, and collaborating with experimental teams to unlock the potential of fusion energy.

Responsibilities

50% Computational Modeling and Simulations

  • Develop and implement advanced computational models for plasma physics to support fusion energy research.

  • Conduct large-scale numerical simulations to optimise plasma confinement and assess stability under various conditions.

30% Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Integration

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to refine models and integrate simulation outputs with experimental observations.

  • Actively contribute to publications and represent PFSR Technologies at international conferences and workshops.

15% Research Innovation and Development

  • Contribute to the formulation of new research ideas and strategies, keeping the organisation at the forefront of fusion energy innovation.

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in plasma physics and computational techniques.

5% Leadership and Mentorship

  • Support and mentor junior researchers and interns as needed, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Plasma Physics, Computational Physics, or a closely related field.

  • Extensive expertise in computational methods and software for plasma simulations.

  • Strong theoretical background with a proven track record of scientific publications or research contributions.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment and provide support to experimental teams.

  • Willingness to work on-site in Bangalore.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multidisciplinary research and integration of simulation data into experimental workflows.

  • Familiarity with advanced plasma simulation tools and frameworks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced Computational Expertise: Proficiency in developing and managing large-scale plasma simulation codes.

  • Collaborative Skills: Strong ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and translate complex research findings into actionable insights.
